ALYSSA ROSE JOHNSON
has been giving lectures and tours of contemporary art exhibitions at MoMA PS1’s Contemporary Art Center in Long Island for several years. After graduating Marymount Manhattan College in 2014, Alyssa has been committed to represent a diverse and multi-dimensional understanding of contemporary art.
Through this partnership with A Day in Art, Alyssa will bring her experience in interactive and participatory methods to actively engage our students in complex dialogues that will shed light on both the works of art and the participants own interests and personal aesthetics. In addition, Jo and Alyssa will bring our students to artist studios to provide an intimate look into artists' work space and larger bodies of works by hosting several studio tours throughout the year.
Alyssa is also an aspiring curator, critic, and lecturer working to continue the history of connecting art with our political, social, and cultural concerns of the 21st century.

Elaine Roberta Werblud Moore and Jo Wood-Brown had a wonderful partnership as art lecturers, taking groups around the city since 2006. Elaine (Bobby) retired in 2014. A beloved teacher, she taught at the New School University, Department of Humanities since 1978, and lectured extensively through the NYC area and in Europe.
